Smart Eye Pro 16 Refines the Research Workflow with UI and Tracking Improvements

The latest update improves gaze robustness during movement, modernizes the user experience, and introduces refinements for research and integration workflows.

Gothenburg, Sweden — June 23, 2026 Smart Eye Pro 16, the latest version of Smart Eye’s flagship eye tracking system, introduces a series of workflow, usability, and robustness improvements designed to make day-to-day research and integration work smoother and more reliable.

“This release focuses on the parts of the workflow users interact with every day,” said Björn Lindahl, VP Product Applied AI. “Alongside broader platform refinements, we’ve focused particularly on improving world model workflows, gaze stability during natural head movements, and the overall user experience.”

Updated User Interface and Improved World Model Workflow

Smart Eye Pro 16 introduces updates to the user interface and world model editor, creating a more modern and streamlined workflow for configuring experimental environments and managing complex world models. The updated interface improves navigation and usability, while the redesigned editor makes it easier to adjust environmental configurations throughout ongoing projects.

Improved Gaze Stability During Head Movement

The new release improves gaze behavior during natural head movements, increasing robustness in cases involving head rotation, translation, or rapid motion. The updated gaze filtering better tolerates natural movement during data collection, helping maintain more stable gaze behavior near the edges of the screen and improving precision for users wearing glasses. This helps researchers maintainmore consistent tracking behavior in dynamic or demanding environments.

SDK, Recording, and Platform Improvements

Smart Eye Pro 16 also includes SDK and remote procedure call (RPC) improvements, making it easier for external applications to communicate with and control the eye tracking system. These updates support integration workflows where integrators’ application-layer software interacts directly with Smart Eye Pro.

Additional improvements in Smart Eye Pro 16 include increased video recording robustness, various bug fixes, and smaller refinements throughout the system.
